2020 Honorary Wine Chairs

This year might be the best yet!  While the current circumstances in our community have caused us to go virtual for one year,  we are increasing the benefit to our sponsors with more than one Wine Chair this year!

MIKE LAMBORN | Lamborn Family Vineyard

Winegrowing, romantic? No, it’s more like “down to earth.” Mike Lamborn leads this small, family-owned and operated vineyard in Napa Valley, California that produces wines made by Heidi Barrett.  Vineyard operations are key to each vintage; Mike spends hundreds of hours each year nurturing the vineyard and adjusting it to the conditions of each growing season.

JEFF SMITH | Hourglass Wines

Jeff Smith, Founder/Vintner, had the unique experience of growing up around the dinner tables of many prominent families who transformed Napa Valley into a world-class wine growing region. Following his father’s lost battle to cancer, Mr. Smith cut short his pursuit of a music career fronting an indie rock bank in San Francisco and returned home. He took a small four-acre family vineyard in St. Helena, replanted it to Cabernet, enlisted the help of winemaker friend Bob Foley and launched Hourglass. From the inaugural 1997 release, the Hourglass estate bottling has evolved into one of Napa’s most esteemed Cabernets.  And that is just the beginning of their story.

MARK MALPIEDE | Williams-Selyem

It was a bottle of Williams Selyem that introduced Mark Malpiede to the pleasures of Pinot Noir—and he became a committed fan, dedicated List Member and eloquent evangelist long before he joined the winery. Although he jokes that the only reason he interviewed for a position with Williams Selyem was a desire to increase his allocation, the truth is that Mark Malpiede arrived in the wine industry with a decisive plan to bring his marketing and sales talents to a dynamic and storied brand.

HOLLIE SCHULZE | Donelan Family Wines

Hollie currently serves as Director of Sales of Donelan Family Wines and has led sales  with some incredible wineries such as Relic Wine Cellars, Copain Wines, and RYME Cellars. She also was the General Manager and Wine Director of Michelin Star restaurant, Ravenous Cafe + Lounge for nine years. Her hand-curated wine list was listed in the “Top 25 Wine List in the U.S” within Wine Spectator. Working with these brands has only helped broaden her knowledge of the ever-changing food and wine industry while developing a true love for California wine. Hollie believes that there is always more to learn and more to taste.

As an added bonus for our sponsors at $15,000 and above, we will be offering a private, virtual experience with a FIFTH winemaker with a most unique story and unparalleled wine.  Stay tuned!
